A rough standardization exists in types of passports throughout the world, although passport types, number of pages and definitions can vary by country.
Full passports
• Passport (also called tourist passport or regular passport) — the most common form of passport, issued to citizens and other nationals. Occasionally, children are registered within the parents' passport, making it equivalent to a family passport.
• Official passport (also called service passport or special passport) — Issued to government employees for work-related travel, and their accompanying dependents.
• Diplomatic passport — issued to diplomats of a country and their accompanying dependants for official international travel and residence. Accredited diplomats of certain grades may be granted diplomatic immunity by a host country, but this is not automatically conferred by holding a diplomatic passport. Any diplomatic privileges apply in the country to which the diplomat is accredited; elsewhere diplomatic passport holders must adhere to the same regulations and travel procedures as are required of other nationals of their country.
• Emergency passport (also called temporary passport) — Issued to persons whose passports were lost or stolen, without time to obtain a replacement. Laissez-passer are also used for this purpose.[34]
• Collective passport — Issued to defined groups for travel together to particular destinations, such as a group of school children on a school trip.[
• Family passport — Issued to an entire family. There is one passport holder, who may travel alone or with other family members included in the passport. A family member who is not the passport holder cannot use the passport for travel without the passport holder.

Visa

A visa (from the Latin charta visa, meaning "paper which has been seen"), is a conditional authorization given by a competent authority of a country for a person who is not a citizen of that country to enter its territory and to remain there for a limited duration. Each country typically attaches to its visas such conditions as duration of stay, territory covered by the visa, dates of validity, and number of visits for which the visa is valid. Visas are associated with the request for permission to enter a country and thus are, in some countries, distinct from actual formal permission for an alien to enter and remain in the country. In each instance, a visa is subject to permission by an immigration official at the time of actual entry and can be revoked at any time.
A visa is commonly a stamp endorsed in the applicant's passport or other travel document. The visa, when required, was historically granted by an immigration official on a visitor's arrival at the frontiers of a country, but increasingly today a traveller wishing to enter another country must apply in advance for a visa, sometimes in person at a consular office, by mail or over the internet. The actual visa may still be an endorsement in the passport or may take the form of a document or an electronic record of the authorisation, which the applicant can print before leaving home and produce on entry to the host country. Some countries do not require visas for short visits.
Some countries require that their citizens, as well as foreign travelers, obtain an "exit visa" to be allowed to leave the country.

Types

A passport is a travel document, usually issued by a country's government, that certifies the identity and nationality of its holder for the purpose of international travel. Standard passports contain the holder's name, place and date of birth, photograph, signature, and other identifying information. Passports are moving towards including biometric information embedded in a microchip embedded in the document, making them machine-readable and difficult to counterfeit.
A passport specifies nationality, but not necessarily citizenship or the place of residence of the passport holder. A passport holder is normally entitled to enter the country that issued the passport, though some people entitled to a passport may not be full citizens with right of abode. A passport is a document certifying identity and nationality; having the document does not of itself grant any rights, such as protection by the consulate of the issuing country, although it may indicate that the holder has such rights. Some passports attest to status as a diplomat or other official, entitled to rights and privileges such as immunity from arrest or prosecution, arising from international treaties.
Many countries normally allow entry to holders of passports of other countries, sometimes requiring a visa also to be held, but this is not an automatic right. Many other additional conditions, such as not being likely to become a public charge for financial or other reasons, and the holder not having been convicted of a crime, may be applicable. Where a country does not recognize another, or is in dispute with it, entry may be prohibited to holders of passports of the other party to the dispute, and sometimes to others who have, for example, visited the other country.
Some countries and international organizations issue travel documents which are not standard passports, but enable the holder to travel internationally to countries that recognize the documents.

An airline ticket is a document, issued by an airline or a travel agency, to confirm that an individual has purchased a seat on a flight on an aircraft. This document is then used to obtain a boarding pass, at the airport. Then with the boarding pass and the attached ticket, the passenger is allowed to board the aircraft. Emigration

The relocation of people from one country to reside in another. People emigrate for many reasons; include increasing one's chance of employment or improving quality of life.
Emigration Act, 1983 provides that no citizen of India shall migrate unless he obtains emigration clearance from Protector of Emigrants. Similarly, it has been recognized that certain countries do not have strict laws regulating the entry and employment of foreign nationals. They also do not provide avenues for grievance reprisal. Thus they have been categorized as Emigration Check Required countries. Hence, all persons, having ECR endorsed passports and going to any of the 17 ECR countries for taking up employment require emigration clearance. However, ECR passport holders going to any ECR country for purposes other than employment do not require emigration clearance. No specific mention of ECNR is made on the passports and the ones not endorsed as ECR, automatically belong to ECNR category.
How do I check my passport is ECR or ECNR?
You can check the status of your passport very easily all you need to do is check the pages of your passport usually the stamp of the Emigration Check required ECR will be on the first two pages of the passport or the last two pages. It is a stamp from the passport office which will Say ECR or Emigration Check required.
If this stamp appears on your passport you need a clearance from the POE office to travel to the Countries listed above.
Recent Exemption from Government of India for ECR passport holders,
With effect from 1st October 2007, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affair have allowed Indian Passport Holder who ECR to travel without a Clearance from the POE office for purpose other than Employment. So if you are traveling for Purpose other than Employment you need to produce and the following documents.
1. Valid Indian Passport
2. Valid Visa for the Destination Country
3. Valid return Air ticket for travel

• Asylum visa issued to people who have suffered or reasonably fear persecution in their own country.
• Immigrant visa, granted for those intending to immigrate to the issuing country.
• Spousal visa or partner visa, granted to the spouse, civil partner or de facto partner of a resident.
• Marriage visa, granted for a limited period before intended marriage.
• Pensioner visa, issued by a limited number of countries, to those who can demonstrate a foreign source of income.
• Official visa is granted to officials doing job for their governments.
• Diplomatic visa is normally only available to bearers of diplomatic passports.

Stamping

The visa is issued in the visitors passport by a U.S. embassy or consulate outside the United States. The visa indicates that the visitor is eligible for entry and reentry to the United States in a specific immigration category.
A passport stamp is a rubber stamp inked impression received in one's passport upon entering or exiting a country. Passport stamps may occasionally take the form of sticker stamps, such as those from Japan. Depending on nationality, a visitor may not receive a stamp, such as an EU citizen traveling to another EU country.
Most countries issue exit stamps in addition to entry stamps. A few countries issue only entry stamps, including Canada, United States, New Zealand,Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Hong Kong does not issue both entry and exit stamps, but issues landing slips instead. Japan does not issue entry stamps[citation needed], but an entry sticker and exit stamp instead. Visas may also take the form of passport stamps.

 Copy of interview appointment letter, DS-160 Confirmation Barcode printout and Original, valid HDFC bank visa fee receipt (Applicant’s Copy).
 The original Notice of Action Form I-797 of the Principal Applicant.
 Original Form I-129 (if Form I-797 is a blanket permit, copy of Form I-797) of the pincipal applicant and letter from employer that describes the relationship with the pincipal aplicant and the purpose of travel.
 Photocopy of the Principal Applicant’s valid visa (if applying separately).
 Original Marriage Certificate (for spouse) along with your entire wedding photo album.
 Original Birth certificate (for each child).

Panchakarma

Ayurveda, from time immemorial focussed on anti-aging and rejuvenation programmes to prevent disease process and to maintain an optimum healthy state. This is recommended for anyone above the age of 40 for 14-21 days anually and any one above 60 years for 21 days anually. This programme consists of different Panchakarma and other special Ayurvedic programmes based on the person's health and body constitution.
An elaborate description of this process of revitalization has been described in the classical texts. According to Charaka, this miraculous change can be brought about if one goes through a prescribed 6-month course of rejuvenation. But this rigorous and disciplined process of classical Ayurvedic rejuvenation is virtually impossible in modern times.The Ayurvedic Rejuvenatory treatment practised today is called Panchakarma.
Panchakarma therapy is performed in 3 stages:
• Purvakarma - preparatory procedures that help the body discard the toxins present in the stomach and tissues and help facilitate the toxins to move to the alimentary canal.
• Pradhanakarma - main treatment which is designed as per each individual's needs
• Paschatkarma - post treatment care includes the diet regimen and the other dos and don'ts.

Abhyangam

It is a full body hot oil massage with medicated herbal oil in the doshaaccording to the medical condition of the patient. Care is taken to ensure that a comfortably warm temperature is maintained in the room. With the help of motion, pressure points and ways of applying pressure, different energy centers are stimulated to assist the body in releasing deep seated toxins as well as improve the blood circulation in the body. The joints, muscles and bones are also strengthened with this massage. In the olden days, this was done daily before bathing. The body would thus be ‘awakened’ and vitalized before the start of the day.

Pizhichil

This massage involves the pouring of warm oil from a Kindi (a special type of vessel) placed several inches above the body while a masseuse performs the massage. Since this massage works to balance out Vata Dosha, the medicated oil used depends on the patient’s condition. The heat from the oil causes perspiration which is required to balance Vata Dosha. This massage type is good for those suffering from stiffness in the body, fractures, paralysis, paraplegia, monoplegia, and hemiplegia.

Njavara Kizhi (Pinda swedam )

After applying the medicated oil over the whole body or any specific part, the medicinal rice (Njavarayari) and the root of Sida retusa extract are processed with milk and to be made in the form of paste and apply over the whole body or any specific part along with massage. This is done for 60 to 90 minutes daily for 07 to 14 days. This treatment renders strengths to nerves and muscles and purifies blood and is beneficial for all types of rheumatism, joint pain, emaciation of limbs, high blood pressure, cholesterol, paralysis, sciatica, and certain kinds of skin diseases and it improves general body weakness, the skin colour and complexion

Sirodhara

"Sirodhara" literally means continuous flow (dhara) on the head (sira). Just as the root forms the base of a plant so also in Ayurveda the head is considered the root of the body. Therefore, Sirodhara is of utmost importance in ayurvedic treatment. Medicated oil, medicated butter milk ,herbal extract etc; is allowed to flow as a continuous stream over the upper part of the forehead along with gentle massage over the scalp thus stimulating the pineal gland in the brain which produces serotonin and melatonin. These hormones play an important role in each person's emotional balance. The treatment may last for 30-45 minutes daily for a period of 07 to 21 days. It is highly effective for diseases of the nervous system and for emotional problems such as chronic depression, insomnia, loss of memory and anxiety (panic) attacks. It is also recommended for chronic headaches, as well as ear, nose and throat problems, and is especially useful for mental relaxation.

Sirovasthi

Medicated lukewarm oil is allowed to retain over the head for about an hour within a leather cap fitted around the head. This treatment is very effective in facial paralysis, cataract, deafness, earache, chronic headache, insomnia, psychosomatic stress and other diseases that afflict the cranial nerves. It stimulates the nervous system and promotes mental concentration.

Greeva vasti/Kati vasti/Uro vasti

Retention of lukewarm medicated oils in a leak proof boundary made up of green gram powder paste over the upper back-cervical (Greeva vasti),in the lower back – lumber(Kati vasti) and in the upper middle of the chest – thorax (Uro vasti) is beneficial in localized and radiating pain of different origin.

Elakizhi

ELAKIZHI is an innovative classical massage with medicated leaves and is used to tackle joint pain, muscle cramps, stress and arthritis. All the above-mentioned treatments can be done in a perfectly healthy person as well so as to enhance his/her immunity, vitality and longevity of life. The above treatments can be offered in different combinations according to the physician’s direction. Each of these combinations give a curative and rejuvenative effect after being undergone for definite periods and repeating at definite intervals.Herbal poultices (bundles) are prepared with various herbs and medicated powders. The poultices are warmed in medicated oils and used to massage the entire body, neck, shoulders, hand and back, shifting the person from side to side. The massage can promote better circulation within the affected area thereby promoting increased perspiration, which helps the skin to eliminate wastes. It also helps to tone the skin and can be superbly relaxing.

Nasyam

Nasya Therapy is a sinus therapy with herbal oils such as herbal oil, ghee, or herbal powder. Your nose is the doorway to the brain as well as the doorway to consciousness. Prana, the life force, enters your body through each breath taken in through your nose. The seat of Prana is in the brain and maintains sensory and motor functions.Our therapy at Ayurveda Wellness Center & Holistic Spa involves healing oil application to your head, face, neck, and shoulder along with herbal oils stimulating Marma points, followed by deep inhalation of herbal steam and guided self administration of herbal oil or ghee into the nostrils. Afterwards, your palms and feet are also gently massaged.

Rasayana Chikitsa

Āyurveda, "the complete knowledge for long life" is a system of traditional medicine native to India and a form of alternative medicine. In Sanskrit, words āyu, meaning "longevity", and veda, meaning "related to knowledge" or "science". Ayurveda has eight branches. Rasayana chikitsa (rejuvenation) is one of them. Rasa has different meanings like "taste“, “essen ce", "flavor”, ”juice”, or “emotion", but is not limited to any of these. In therapeutic process Rasa is concerned with the conservation, transformation, and revitalization of energy.

Uzhichil

The term "Uzhichil" refers to a type of Ayurvedic massage where body is massaged in a special pattern, which improves blood circulation, vitalizes various organs and thus provides a new energy to the body. It tones up the muscle and strengthens the body.
